In 2005, at the age of 18, Jonathan Emile was diagnosed with cancer. As a recent high-school graduate who was passionate about the arts, he was faced with an unclear future and dealt with his own mortality at the age of 18. The aggressive form of cancer forced Emile to take a step back from the rigours of college life and focus on his mental and physical health. It was at this time, he would truly discover the depth of his love for music.

While undergoing treatment, Emile taught himself guitar, wrote poetry and created music that could communicate his experience in order to leave a recorded legacy. With his life hanging in the balance, he continued to create, making a promise to share a new philosophy he developed during his battle with cancer -- Mindpeacelove.

For a decade, Emile developed the idea and sound of Mindpeacelove through collaboration, performance, and research while attending University. From Soul, to Hip-Hop, and Reggae to Jazz he continued to learn and create guided by his experiences and his philosophy.

To achieve balance, mind , peace and love must be equiprimordial. For this reason, Mindpeacelove is written as one word to emphasize the necessity of unity of these elements in an uncertain world where control is often an illusion. The idea is to approach life -- and music -- by bridging the intellect with spiritual/emotional well being while using love and positivity as a catalyst to create connections. Against stark odds, Jonathan emerged from his battle with cancer victorious. With a new perspective, Emile hoped to refine his craft and share his music with the world.

In 2015, he released his first feature-length record and brought Mindpeacelove to a wider audience with the support of wife Ruth & closest friend and business partner NT. The album The Lover/Fighter Document released in partnership with HighSeason Co. featured notable artist KRS-1, Buckshot, Murs & Kendrick Lamar. Determined to continue his message and philosophy, Emile continued to work on developing a non-exploitative business model in a changing digital musical landscape.

In 2018, Emile met a group of longtime friends who shared a deep passion for music and social enterprise. The group of friends was profoundly struck by similarities in their approach to life, business and passion for music and decided to collaborate. Over the course a year the small team began to enter the studio to produce music combining the ethos and experiences of the partners. The creative and development process was guided by the same principles explored by Emile a decade ago and would become the basis for Mindpeacelove Productions Inc.

Jonathan Emile is now joined Geneviève Allard, Derek Vincent and Colin McKinnon as executives at Mindpeacleove.

Currently, Mindpeacelove is developing and collaborating with international talents to bring music to a market in the genres of Hip-Hop, Reggae, Pop, R&B, Adult Contemporary, Christmas & Kids Pop.
